âI LOVE THE FREEDOM OF MY JOB. EVERY SINGLE CLIENT WHO SITS IN MY CHAIR HAS A DIFFERENT HAIRLINE, FACE SHAPE, TEXTURE, AND STORY TO TELL. EVERYTHING ABOUT MY JOB IS EVER-CHANGING AND THERE IS ALWAYS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT. I LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY DAY EVEN AFTER THIRTY-EIGHT YEARS IN THE BUSINESS. ITâS ALWAYS MOTIVATING WITH SO MUCH MORE TO LEARN.â
Cazzie never wallows in something once it has passed. She brushes herself off and moves forward with an onward march attitude. âI donât dwell on things; I just move on. Everything is always going to be okay, and itâs over in a second. Things can only get better, and if they donât, oh well. I am emotional, but not one to feel sorry for myself. Maybe thatâs the Australian in meââToughen up, mate, toughen up!â After going through the recession with my parents, I learned the importance of keeping it together. Yoga, music, incense, and candles really help me to maintain my peace; I need a lot of that around me. I need to be surrounded by happiness since I am very sensitive to darkness. Yoga is something that gives me balance, control, and power to be a good mom. I need that hour to think, stay positive, and to keep strong. The only time I get down is when Roy is on tour too long. Thatâs how he makes a living, but when heâs gone more than four weeks, itâs too much. Itâs hard because when he is home, itâs harmony.â This harmony and beauty are wholly reflected in their home decorated with artifacts Cazzie has collected from all over the world. There is a giant ten-foot Buddha that overlooks the property, maintaining love and peace throughout the space.
She is truly passionate about her career, and I couldnât imagine Cazzie doing anything else. She is a master at hair and is constantly educating herself to the newest techniques and training. She is also a talented makeup artist. Most of all, she loves working with her clients. âI love the freedom of my job. Every single client who sits in my chair has a different hairline, face shape, texture, and story to tell. Everything about my job is ever-changing and there is always room for improvement. I learn something new every day even after thirty-eight years in the business. Itâs always motivating with so much more to learn.â The love for her clients is abundantly reciprocated by everyone fortunate enough to sit in her chair, as well as the photographers and directors she has worked with over the years. Acclaimed director/photographer Dean Karr describes exactly what it is like to have Cazzie on your team: âCazzie is a lucky charm who came into my life almost twenty years ago. She has such creative vision and is always full of positive production vibes when things get tough on set. She has been an integral part of my glam squad department. Australiaâs best export ever! I absolutely love her!â
